Tractor Rebuild Grid Heater and Operator Platform

Since I had the loader and hood off, I thought I would get the grid heater kit made for the tractor. This allows you to pre-heat the air in the intake manifold to make the engine start more easily in cold weather. These are very common in almost all diesel engines where glow plugs are not used.

I also decided to try something different on the operator platform panels. You can see that the paint was mostly worn off from my boots before the fire. I repainted the bottom parts of the panels and painted Herculiner on the top, step, and edges. It's made for pickup bedliners, so I thought it would work well for this. It turned out very well, but took a long time to cure. The instructions said it would take 24 hours, but it actually took about 10 days before it was no longer tacky. Fortunately, I was not in a hurry.
