Tractor Rebuild Fire Damage
In 2022, I had a fire on my JD 5105 tractor. I was outside when it happened and was able to extinguish it fairly quickly with a large ABC fire extinquisher. Always have a few of those in your shop! However, it did not take long to do some pretty major damage.
As you can see from the pictures, the fire was primarily around the operator's console area. My best guess is that there was a small electrical fire in the fuse box or fuse box wiring harness that melted the fuel lines that run through the area. Some fuel likely spilled onto the fire, making it much larger.
I had not had any electrical issues before this. I had parked it in front of the shop after running a brush-hog for a couple of hours. I usually park it there in case something is hot on the brush hog itself. It was a very good thing it was outside.
